Investigation on adherence to inhalants among patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases
OBJECTIVE To investigate the status of inhalants use in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) patients and analyze its influence factors, and then provide a reference for targeted drug education.METHODS Totally 121 patients on inhalants therapy for more than half a year were investigated by a unified test of the adherence to inhales(TAI) questionnaire.RESULTS The degree of compliance with inhaled drug therapy in patients with asthma and COPD was only 19.83%, 37.19% of the respondents showed unconscious non-compliance. Medication adherence was affected by age and education level.CONCLUSION The inhalation compliance is poor for asthma and COPD patients receiving inhaled drug therapy, especially in poorly educated and elderly patients. It is recommended to strengthen the usage education of inhalants in corresponding population.
